    What We Do

Since 2003, the Piedmont Key Club has concerned itself with guiding and concentrating the efforts of Piedmont High School students interested in serving their community. The Key Club can offer useful contacts for various types of service (for example political campaigns or beach cleanup) as well as contact with other high schoolers interested in service.

In addition to the various service projects performed by its many members, the Key Club has an overall specific focus: the beautification of Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA. Lake Merritt is the oldest wildlife reserve in the United States and to continue its legacy, members of the Piedmont Key Club have devoted hundreds of hours to the preservation of the Lake.

    Who We Represent

The Piedmont Key Club is a branch of Key Club International, a student-led organization whose goal is to teach leadership through serving others. Key Club International, in turn, is a part of the Kiwanis International group, an international service organization dedicated to the improvement of society through service. In May, 1925, Key Club became an "International" organization, spanning from North America to Australia and New Zealand. Worldwide, Key Club comprises two hundred and fifty thousand high school students dedicated to service and giving, making it by far the largest service organization for high school students in the world.
