Eco-Friendly Car Wash!

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Date: April 19th

Location: Valero Gas Station – 340 Highland Ave. Piedmont, CA

Time: 10AM-4PM

Most car soaps hurt the environment. Even those claiming to be biodegradable require the car to be washed over a plot of dirt or a lawn to truly break down- something they don’t tell you. The soap washes into the storm drains, and ends up in our local Lake Merritt where it harms plants and animals.

The Key Club has found a product created by Green Earth Technologies that is 100% eco friendly. It does not contain soap, but instead uses natural substances to break apart dirt. Come down to Valero to support a greener future, one step at a time!

Eco Friendly Car Wash

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Date/Time : Sunday, September 28th from 10AM-3PM

Location : Valero Gas Station, 340 Highland Ave. Piedmont CA 94611

Why Green?

Washing you car might seem like a harmless chore, but the soap that runs down the storm drain is not treated. Instead of going to a sewage plant, that soapy water proceeds straight into Lake Merritt, where it harms the plants and animals that call the lake home.

What seperates our car wash from others is our choice of soap- or to be more accurate, lack of soap. The product we are using does the work of regular car wash solutions with one difference: it is 100% eco friendly. That’s right, it is completely safe to wash down the storm drain.

Help support the spread of a green lifestyle by getting your car washed in an eco friendly way!
